I am an independent video producer, director and editor. I am also an instructor of editing and media software (Mac), an independent film and video maker, an aspiring animator, and an all round great gal. ;-P
Despite my precision technical abilities and uber nerd organizational skills, I am an artist first and my editing craft has developed with an unconventional and inventive aesthetic in video-making. I started making film and video work at the Ontario College of Art in the late 80s. In the 90s I relearned everything I knew about analog audio and video in order to edit in a digital format. I have been editing for others and myself since then (I started using Final Cut Pro on Version 1.25). More recently I have built up my repertoire to include DVD Authoring and have developed my skills in After Effects animation. I have always loved animation so the addition of Photoshop and After Effects in my software knowledge was a natural progression.
I tutor Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, and DVD Studio Pro, privately, semi-privately and for small groups. As an instructor I am sensitive to a variety of learning needs and I come to the workshops with a fun and alternative approach. I taught the video editing workshops at Trinity Square Video in Toronto from 2002 to 2008, first on Media 100 and then on Final Cut Pro. Since then I have been tutoring privately throughout the Victoria and surrounding areas.
I was also the resident Mac head and Pro Tools Op at Footsteps Post Production Sound Inc (Foley Recording Studio) from the early 2000s to 2008: IMDB Credit List. In addition to my video editing skills I have extensive knowledge of ProTools, Retrospect, FilemakerPro, small system administration, and general file management and archiving practices.
My film and video work has screened internationally and has aired on national television
